Overview

The Buddy Locate is a GPS tracking, personal protection and voice communication device:

Real-time GPS tracking

The location of the device can be monitored with the Cybertrack web interface showing its current location, heading, and speed.

Personal Protection

The Buddy Locate incorporates many security functions such as the ability to send different types of ’SOS’ and ‘man- down’ alerts.

Voice communication

The Buddy Locate can make voice calls to up to three telephone numbers and can receive phone calls from any number.

Functions

Regular Status Reporting

The Buddy Locate sends status reports every 60 seconds. Each report shows the time, position, speed, direction of travel and battery level.

Device Polling

The device’s status can be requested at any time (either via the web interface or from a mobile phone by SMS).

Parking Geofence

The Buddy Locate has a ‘parking geofence’ function that can act as an anti-theft device. If the unit moves away from its set location an alert will be sent.

Configurable Geofences

In addition to the parking geofence, the Buddy Locate can also be configured with an unlimited number of standard geofences using the Cybertrack web interface.

Event-triggered Alerts

The Buddy Locate can automatically send multiple alerts via web pop-ups, email or SMS when:

‘SOS’ or ’Help’ buttons are activated

Man-down alert is triggered

Device strays inside or outside a geofence zone

Low battery level

Device begins to move (after being stationary)

Device exceeds a certain speed

Eavesdrop Mode

The Buddy Locate has an ’eavesdrop’ mode which can be activated either by the person holding the device or by a third party (this feature can be disabled if required). This enables the third party to listen to the device’s surroundings.
